ISLAMABAD: Secretary General of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) Dr Hadi Soleimanpour will pay a four-day visit to Pakistan commencing from Tuesday (today), ARY News reported.
Dr Soleimanpour will pay his first visit to Pakistan after assuming charge of secretary general of the economic inter-governmental organisation in August 2018.
During his stay, the visiting dignitary will hold meetings with the President Dr Arif Alvi, Prime Minister Imran Khan and the Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi.
Discussions will be held on issues pertaining to cooperation amongst the ECO member countries in different spheres.
Dr Soleimanpour will also meet the federal ministers of finance, information, planning & development, commerce, investment and others in order to discuss cultural cooperation, infrastructure development, trade liberalisation and regional connectivity amongst the member countries.
Earlier in the day, the German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas arrived in Islamabad after completion of his unannounced visit to Afghanistan. He is scheduled to have high-level meetings with the Pakistani leadership.
Upon arrival at Nur Khan Airbase, he was warmly welcomed by the high ranking officials of the Foreign Office (FO).
