KARACHI: Police claimed on Sunday to have arrested a suspected target killer associated with a political party during a raid in Mominabad area of the metropolis, ARY News reported.
A police official said the suspect, identified as Muhammad Nadeem alias Khalnayak, was involved in heinous crimes, including targeted killings, arson attacks and extortion.
The criminal had confessed to his involvement in various criminal activities before investigators, the official said, adding that he was also involved in the killings of a number of government officials.
The police official said raids are being carried out to arrest his accomplices.

Earlier, on March 9, police had claimed to have arrested a suspected target killer involved in various criminal cases after a shootout with the police personnel in Bahadurabad area of the metropolis.
SSP East Azfar Mahesar said the suspect identified as Shayan alias Shan was arrested after an encounter with the police personnel while his two accomplices managed to flee the scene. Arms were seized from his possession, he added.
He said the held suspect was involved in various crimes, including robberies, extortion, and target killing.
Mahesar said the suspected criminal had killed a citizen within the jurisdiction of PIB Colony police station in 2013, adding that he was also involved in extorting money from traders.
