No Israeli aircraft landed in Pakistan, Qureshi tells NA

ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Tuesday categorically refuted reports regarding landing of an Israeli aircraft in Islamabad and termed it baseless and fictitious.

Replying to Khursheed Shah’s query during the National Assembly session, Qureshi stressed that the present government is not responsible for the current economic crisis, the country is passing through the dire economic situation, and it is responsibility of both opposition and treasury benches to collectively work to steer country out of the crisis, adding that the government seeks guidance from the opposition benches and will give valuable consideration to their suggestions.

” Saudi economic package for Pakistan carries no conditions, Pakistan is not sending any troops to Yemen”,  the foreign minister reiterated.

News of Israeli aircraft landing in Pakistan spread rapidly, after tweet of  Avi Scharf, the editor of Israeli newspaper Haaretz.

The news was soon rebutted by the Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry and later by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).

This clarification came on the heels of a tweet by Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry assailing PML-N stalwart Ahsan Iqbal who shared a media report about the alleged arrival of the aircraft on his verified twitter account seeking an explanation from the government.

Meanwhile, spokesperson of Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) stated in categorical terms that no aircraft from Israel touched down at any airport in Pakistan. There is no truth in the rumors about arrival of an Israeli plane in Pakistan, he added.

Opposition demanding of the PTI-led government to unveil Saudi conditions for bailout package, but government including Prime Minister Imran Khan in his recent address to the nation, have been categorically saying that no conditions placed over Pakistan in exchange of bail out package by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
