KARACHI: Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) nabbed a notorious outlaw, Kashif Ali alias ‘Munna’ in an operation in Ayisha Manzil area here on Saturday.
“Kashif was wanted to the police in cases of killing, dacoities and snatching,”reads the statement issued by CTD, adding that he [Kashif] has confessed killing a trader upon resisting robbery in 2017 and carrying out activities of kidnapping for ransom.
According to the department, the gang led by Arif Alias ‘Tinda’ was involved in snatching cash, gold jewelry and other valuables from people outside the banks and marriage halls of the city.
On October 26, Pakistan Rangers Sindh and Counter Terrorism Department in a joint operation, arrested the suspended inspector of CTD, Zaheer Ahmed alias Gul, involved in criminal activities.
“Arms and ammunition like, Kalashnikov, rifles, pistol and hand grenades were confiscated from the arrested criminal”, while foreign currencies of US, India, Iran and Saudi Arabia were also found from possession of Zaheer Ahmed, said Rangers spokesman in his statement.
He was also involved in supply of arms and ammunition to criminal gangs of Lyari and Sohail Dada Group, Sindh Rangers statement said.
According to the spokesperson, operation for the arrest of his accomplices is underway in the area, whereas the arrested criminal was handed over to the CTD.
It may be recalled that Zaheer Ahmed was suspended from the department over charges of taking ransom for kidnapping.
