ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Malaysia, on Monday, have agreed to beef up mutual cooperation in defense and other spheres as a step towards further strengthening their bilateral relations, Radio Pakistan reported.
According to details, the understanding came at a meeting between Chief of Royal Malaysian Air Force General Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Hj Affendi Bin Buang and the Air Chief Marshal Mujahid Anwar Khan in the federal capital.
During the meeting, the Pakistani air chief briefed the visiting dignitary regarding PAF’s ongoing indigenization projects in recent years.
The Chief of Malaysian Air Force acknowledged the sound professionalism of Pakistan Air Force and lauded its key role in the war on terrorism.
Few days earlier, Prime Minister Imran Khan concluded his state visit of Malaysia with an upward trajectory in bilateral relations.
During the visit, while addressing a joint news conference with his Malaysian counterpart in Kuala Lumpur, Prime Minister Imran Khan said Pakistan wants to learn from Malaysia’s experience of turning around economy, trade, and development in other sectors.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Mahathir Mohamad said Malaysia and Pakistan face similar challenges and it has been decided to cooperate with one another to cope with them. He emphasized the need to continue mutual cooperation to benefit from the experiences of one another.
