“Indian army must respect ethics of professional soldiering,” DG ISPR on Kashmir

RAWALPINDI: Director General (DG) Inter Service Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Asif Ghafoor tweeted on Monday to denounce the Indian atrocities in occupied Kashmir.

He wrote, “State sponsored terrorism by Indian Occupation Forces on innocent Kashmiris including unethical targeting of civilian population across LOC [Line of Control] are highly condemnable.”

Encouraging the struggle of Kashmiri people for their right to self determination, the DG further wrote, “Bullets can never suppress unarmed brave Freedom Fighters.”

“Indian Army must respect ethics of professional soldiering,” the tweet added.

Yesterday, Prime Minister Imran Khan also strongly denounced the killing of 11 Kashmiri youth and said, only dialogue and not violence and killings will resolve this decades old conflict of Kashmir.

The prime minister said Pakistan will raise issue of India’s human rights violations in occupied Kashmir and demand the United Nations to fulfill its commitment to hold plebiscite in Kashmir.

On the other hand, Kashmir Media Service reported today that Indian authorities have imposed ‘curfew’ like restrictions across Srinagar and adjoining areas to prevent a march towards the Indian army headquarters in Badami Bagh.

According to details, call for the march was given by the Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL), comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik, against the killings of innocent Kashmiris in Pulwama district by Indian troops.

On Saturday, the troops had killed as many as 11 Kashmiri youth during a cordon and search operation and firing of live ammunition on protest.
