LAHORE: Paying tribute to former Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) chief (late) Qazi Hussain Ahmad, Punjab Minister for Information and Culture Fayazul Hassan Chohan on Tuesday said Prime Minister Imran Khan was carrying forward the mission of Qazi Ahmad, ARY News reported.
“PM Imran is playing the same role what Qazi Ahmad did by standing up against plunderers, con men, paper tigers, Zardaris, and those who act upon anti-state elements’ orders,” Fayaz Chohan said while talking to media in Lahore.
Sixth death anniversary of the former JI chief was observed across the country on January 6.
Fayaz said by keeping alive the practice of Qazi Ahmed, Imran was playing the same role what Qazi did in his lifetime.
Reciting Mohammed Iqbal’s poetry, the Punjab information minister said both the leaders had the same motto of their lives which was austerity and no lust for accumulating wealth. “They are true mystics.”
“The vultures against whom Qazi would stage sit-in protests, run movements, bear injuries on his chest, Imran and I are also following the same line against them to protect the country,” he said.
In a warning, he said the government would give the culprit exemplary punishment who would loot hundreds and millions of public rupees and then appear on the National Accountability Bureau hearing and make victory sign.
