Dare to name him who asked for NRO, Nawaz responds to PM Khan’s remarks

ISLAMABAD: Giving a rebuttal to Prime Minister Imran Khan’s statement, ousted premier Nawaz Sharif said “those who are hurling accusation for seeking an NRO, should also dare to name the one who is asking for it.”

While talking to media in the premises of an accountability court, Nawaz stated that I was confined behind the bars in prison, “I did not approach anyone for the National Reconciliation Order (NRO).”

Referring to his brother’s custody of National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Nawaz commented that Shehbaz Sharif worked days and nights; his services as a chief minister had no parallel. “Shehbaz should have been hailed for his performance but he is under NAB’s remand at present,” he complained.

The Bureau failed to find anything against the former chief minister in Ashiana Housing scheme scam, therefore, a new case was being created to blame him, PML-N supreme leader told the media men.

Further, Nawaz refused to public the details of his meeting with Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman who is playing a mediator between major opposition parties on the matter of calling an All Parties Conference (APC) of a united opposition.

‘No NRO’

After concluding his Saudi Arabia visit few days back, Prime Minister Imran Khan, reiterated in a more accentuated manner through a video message to the nation that none will be allowed to evade accountability.

Taking an aim at his political opponents, he said, “My message is loud and clear, you (the opposition parties’ leaders) can protest on roads, in assemblies and even in Islamabad’s D-Chowk, we are even ready to provide you food but there will be no NRO, I will not leave any corrupt individual or give him relief come what may,” said the PM.
