Fazl-ur-Rehman believes Israeli plane landed in Pakistan

Fazl

LAHORE: On controversy of Israeli jet’s landing, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman on Sunday said he believed that the Israeli plane had landed on ground in Pakistan, ARY News reported.

“It is extremely serious situation. We reject the government’s dismissal in this regard. The Oman government has confirmed half of the news,” he said while talking to media in Lahore.

He said the purpose of Israel behind contacting the government could be selling its weapons to Pakistan and getting itself acknowledged.

Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry on Saturday stated that Pakistan would not hold any covert talks either with India or Israel.

The minister was reacting to the tweet of PML-N leader Ahsan Iqbal who sought clarification from the government over reports circulating on the social media that an Israeli aircraft allegedly visited Islamabad.

President Dr Arif Alvi has also dismissed reports of an Israeli jet landing in Pakistan, saying the government was not establishing any sort of relations with Israel.

Fazl said during his meeting with former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, they discussed national issues. He said they did not consider the incumbent government a legitimate entity. The performance of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government was badly affecting the country, he said.

He took a dig at the government’s foreign policy, devaluation of rupee and rise in inflation. He said Pakistan could make progress if it was made an interest-free country.

Talking about meeting with President Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Shehbaz Sharif, the JUI-F chief said it was a day of meeting with Shehbaz in jail, however, when his family went they were barred from meeting.

Fazl said Nawaz had sought time for the All Parties Committee (APC). He would confirm for his participation after consultation with his younger brother, he added.
