LAHORE: Punjab’s Information Minister, Fayyazul Hasan Chohan turning his cannons towards Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) said “both the parties did nothing to bring looted money back to national exchequer,” ARY NEWS reported on Wednesday.
Addressing a press conference in Lahore, Chohan said both the parties in order to hide their wrongdoings avoided to take steps for bringing back the laundered money, as they were hand in glove with each other. Prime Minister is taking concrete steps in this context.” he contended.
Taking a jibe at former president Asif Zardari, the minister quoted as saying ” You will find meaning of “corruption” and “money laundering” in return, ones you write Asif Zardari in Oxford’s dictionary.”
He said that government has busted more than 5,000 fake bank accounts, used for laundering money of more than 700 billion rupees. The minister without taking anyone’s name said, everyone knows, who has illegally occupied sugar mills and lands.
Chohan issued an open challenge to PML-N’s Mushahidullah Khan for a debate, whenever and wherever he wants, adding, he got his relatives appointed in Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) during the tenure of the last government without consideration of merit.
Defending former secretary general of PTI, Jehangir Tareen, the Punjab’s information minister said, ” he is not holding any position in the party, he is well wisher of the party as a worker,” he continued.
Reacting over a video clip surfaced last week on social media showing a meeting between Tareen, Pervaiz Elahi and Tariq Bashir Cheema In which PML-Q leaders can be seen complaining against Punjab’s Governor, Chohan said “media violated PEMRA laws by airing that video and maintained that coalition partners are on the same page in Punjab and rebutted rumors about any differences within them.
