India’s new propaganda to discredit Pakistan exposed

LAHORE: Mufti Muhammad Tayyab, head of the Jamia Islamia Imdadia, on Monday laid bare an Indian propaganda when he said two of his institution’s students, whom New Delhi police termed terrorists and released their photograph asking locals to remain vigilant, have never gone to the neighbouring country.

Speaking at a press conference alongside these two students – Tayyab and Nadeem, he said they both are in Pakistan and have never gone to India.

Students are usually made to sign an affidavit at the time of admission into the seminary that they will neither remain supporter nor opponent of any militant organization, said Mufti Tayyab.

According to Indian media reports, the New Delhi police on November 20 released the photograph of the two men posing beside a milestone at Wagah border and asked locals to remain vigilant and call police in case they see or find any information about the two men.

The photograph showed them posing with a milestone which read Delhi was 360 kilometre away and Ferozepur 9 kilometre away.

Mufti Tayyab deplored Indian media’s attitude, saying it acted irresponsibly. He added that it has done nothing new and continued with its propaganda against Pakistan as per its practice.

Speaking on the occasion, Nadeem, one of the two students, said he uploaded his photograph on social media on insistence of his friends. He said he and his friend got snapped their picture at Wagah border where they had gone for recreational purposes during their visit to Raiwind.

However, he said Indian media made hue and cry over it.
