ISLAMABAD: Iran has said it was ready to collaborate with Pakistan in fight against terrorism by carrying out joint border operations and putting in place an effective intelligence sharing mechanism.
According to Iran’s local media, Iranian Interior Minister Abdol-Reza Rahmani-Fazli appreciated Pakistan’s efforts in recovery of the abducted Iranian border guards.
He said Pakistan extended good cooperation for release of those abductees.
Fazli said the two countries could carry out joint border operations and enjoy much intelligence cooperation.

Last week, the Pakistani armed forces and law enforcement agencies had safely recovered five Iranian guards who were abducted on the southeastern border between the two countries last month.
Foreign Office Spokesperson Dr Muhammad Faisal said that the five abducted Iranian guards were recovered safely with concerted efforts of the Pakistani armed forces and law enforcement agencies.
He said the recovered guards were in good health and being handed over to the Iranian authorities, adding that concerted efforts under vigilance of the military leadership were underway to recover the rest of the guards.
