GILGIT: Special Communication Organization (SCO) has launched progressive work on stipulation of mobile phone service to distant areas of Gilgit Baltistan including the area along the Karakorum Highway from Shukayal to Khunjarab in association of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project.
According to details provided by the SCO company’s sector commander Saqib Iqbal, since this initiative is a fraction of infrastructure development project, the SCO, a mobile service provider company in GB would likely to set up 125 new mobile towers in order to present coverage to utmost costumers in all districts of Gilgit Baltistan counting the ones which are along the Karakorum Highway.
He added, that till now the company had installed towers to mobile phone customers in almost seven areas consisting Gilgit city.
Furthermore, he informed that the company would like to offer 3-G and 4-G service to the entire parts of Gilgit Baltistan under this innovative project.
Iqbal further explained, that the company is mainly entertaining the customers’ necessities based on latest needs, and people mostly tourists will be able to take advantage of the mobile phone services as soon as they will enter in the premises of the GB.
He mentioned that these mobile services will be provided till Khunjarab border of Pakistan and China, connecting easily all the remote districts of GB to the rest of the world under the initiative of this innovative project by almost next month through stipulation of modern mobile phone services to them.
