RAWALPINDI: An Army Captain on Wednesday embraced martyrdom while another soldier sustained critical wounds while counteracting an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in Mohmand district, said Director General, Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).
Disclosing details of the incident in his tweet, Major General Asif Ghafoor said, 25-year-old, Captain Zarghaam Fareed was martyred as he was neutralising an IED detected at Mohmad Gat in Mohmand District. Sepoy Rehan of the bomb disposal squad was critically injured in the explosion, he added.

Earlier on September 13, four terrorists were killed and three soldiers were martyred in an operation in North Waziristan region.
The martyred soldiers were identified as Lieutenant Moeen along with naeb subedar Nazir Ahmed and Fakhar. The terrorists killed were wanted by security forces in an attack on law enforcement personnel.
On August 23, an officer of security forces was martyred and three others were injured in an improvised explosive device (IED) blast in Dan Kilay area of North Waziristan.
The martyred havaldar Ahmed Khan was resident of District Mianwali. The incident occurred when Pakistan Army’s bomb disposal team was on routine search and clearance operation.
