BEIJING: Epitomizing China for alleviating poverty and steering country towards development, Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan said that Pakistan looks forward to cooperation from its all-weather ally to deal with white collar crimes.
Addressing a ceremony in Central Party School on Sunday, PM Khan hailed China’s role for always assisting Pakistan in the time of need.
“We want to take benefit from China’s experiences and aim to strengthen our institutions to subsequently control corruption,” Premier Khan said, while further committing to rid Pakistan of poverty.
Dubbing his audience as the future leadership of China, PM Khan told them, “the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is highly significant for us, as the war on terror severely marred the state’s economy.”
The CPEC will help foster coordination between the two countries and such economic zones will bring financial prosperity to Pakistan, he added.
Recalling the time of 1960s, the Prime Minister shed light on facts when Pakistan’s gross domestic product (GDP) was the highest and the country was deemed as a role model for Malaysia and North Korea, “however, now fraudulence and money laundering have destructively affected Pakistan,” he lamented.
On November 2, Prime Minister Imran Khan landed in China on a four-day official visit.
Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Finance Minister Asad Umar, Advisor for trade Abdul Razzaq Dawood and Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal and Sheikh Rasheed are accompanying the PM on his visit.
