LAHORE: Punjab cabinet has ‘conditionally’ lifted the ban on government jobs from grade one to 16 across the province, ARY News reported on Friday.
This decision was taken during a meeting of the cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Punjab, Sardar Usman Buzdar, to review different matters of the province.
The cabinet, after “okaying” for the recruitment in the different departments of the Punjab government ‘conditionally’, advised the concerned departments to submit their cases with the finance department about manpower, they require.
The cabinet also green-lightened the auction of 22 luxury vehicles of the provincial government.
During the meeting it was decided to hand over the control of six bullet proof vehicles to the police department while ten vehicles will be moved to SNDGAD’s poll. An industrial policy for the province.was also approved during the meeting of the cabinet.
The ban on the jobs was slapped by the provincial government on September 1, in a meeting of the cabinet that held to discuss 11-point agenda with Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar in the chair.
” The government had decided to do away with the employment policies of the previous regimes and no jobs would be offered till the chief minister had formulated a new employment policy based on merit and transparency”, said Fayyazul Hasan Chohan.
