ISLAMABAD: As the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government approaches its 100-day mark this week, Minister for Human Rights Shireen Mazari on Tuesday released a report showing performance of her ministry within the first 100 days of the government.
The report outlines the ministry’s key functions, architecture, legislation milestones, international milestones, UN reports, and National Action Plan.
The ministry so far drafted nine bills during the period of 100 days, which includes Zainab Alert Bill, Corporal Punishment Bill, Domestic Workers Bill, Disability BILL, Christian Marriage & Divorce Bill, the Punjab Sikh Anand Karaj Marriage, Enforced Disappearances Bill, Legal Aid and Access to Justice Bill, and Anti-Torture Bill.
Three researches, including research on inheritance, street children and harmonization of laws, and three policies, including Women Empowerment Policy and Policy on Child Abuse, were formulated within the 100 days.
