Stray kite string kills boy in Karachi

KARACHI: A 5-year-old boy lost his life on Sunday when his throat was slit by a stray metal kite string in city’s area of Korangi.

As per details of the tragic incident, a boy named, Alyan was riding a motorbike along with his father in Korangi No 3 when his neck was slit by a kite string. He was moved to a nearby medicinal facility, but succumbed to his injury.

The father of the victim while speaking to the media demanded exemplary punishment to those responsible for his son’s death.

In another incident of similar nature that took place in month of August this year, a ten-year-old girl was killed by a kite string in Liaquatabad area of Karachi.

A girl named Tayabba was going on a motorcycle with her father, when metal string of a stray kite got entangled around her neck near the Gharibabad underpass in Liaquatabad.

The girl was rushed to the nearest hospital, but was unable to survive the fatal injury, she suffered of the lethal kite string.
