SRINAGAR: The Hurriyat leadership, comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik, expressed grave concern, on Saturday, over the provocative and threatening remarks of Indian Army Chief, General Bipin Rawat, Kashmir Media Service reported.
Two days earlier, General Bipin Rawat while delivering a lecture at the Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses in New Delhi, said Kashmiris should stay ready to bear harms caused by Indian drone attacks, adding, the strikes may go even beyond the Line of Control (LoC) towards Pakistan.

“This is not only ridiculous but childish as well to (suggest) countering and containing a few freedom-fighter youth with non-conventional weaponry. 10 lac soldiers with sophisticated and latest equipment, augmented with a vast and deep informative network, have miserably failed for the last 30 years,” the statement of Hurriyat leadership read.
Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik said that the Indian army chief’s statement was, in fact, an acknowledgment of their humiliating defeat on every front. They deplored that India only talks the language of hatred, destruction, violence and force.
As per the Kashmir Media Service, the leaders appealed to the international community, particularly the United Nations, to take cognizance of threatening statements of war-mongers Indian military head.
The core members of the Hurriyat party also cautioned Pakistan to remain vigilant in the light of these statements as the war clouds are looming around, Kashmir Media Service said.
