ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad on Tuesday shared a personal account from his childhood and revealed that he had been a child labor victim.
Addressing the convocation ceremony of College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan, the federal minister said, he used to work right in front of Laal Haveli, the political centre for Sheikh, and later “I entered the building as a minister.”
Recounting the past, Sheikh said, “I used to sell books outside Laal Haveli.”
Speaking to passing out doctors, the minister said the field of medicines is a prophetic profession. “Serve the country and the nation with your efforts,” he advised.

Few days earlier, during a school event in Rawalpindi, the chief of All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) said “Rawalpindi is on number one when it comes to children’s education,” this city has given birth to several renowned leaders, he added.
According to the 100-day performance report of different ministries, outlining ‘feats and failures’ of the ministers, Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rasheed and Minister of State for Communications Murad Saeed appeared to be having a tough contest in terms of edging past one another.
The report says that both the ministers completed their 100-day tasks in time. The ministry headed by Sheikh Rasheed registered an income of more than Rs 2 billion, while Murad Saeed’s ministry saw an addition of Rs 3 billion to the revenue in first 100 days in office.
