LAHORE: Making rules and regulations strict for wearing uniforms, King Edward Medical University Lahore has banned wearing T-shirts, jeans pants, slippers and sandals, ARY News reported.
The ban has been imposed on both male and female students.
The university has also made it compulsory to put on a lab coat during visit to hospital, specially patient care section.
In case of violation of the said rules, students would not be allowed to enter classes or wards. Directives have been issued to staff for implementation of the canons.
King Edward Medical University was founded in 1860 in Lahore. In 1871, the university added Mayo Hospital as an affiliated hospital. The same year the college became an affiliate of University of Punjab, while in 1887, the university added Lady Aitchison Hospital as a second teaching hospital.
Following the partition, the university became the only medical college in Pakistan and in 2005 became a charter to award degrees in its own right.
