LAHORE: In line with his party’s electoral promise, Prime Minister Imran Khan on Saturday directed the authorities to pull down the boundary walls of the Punjab Governor House.
He directed Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar and Governor Chaudhry Sarwar to raze the walls of the Governor House within next 72 hours, said Punjab Information and Culture Minister Fayyazul Hassan Chohan.
He said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government will fulfill all promises it made to the people during the election campaign.
The minister said the demolition of the boundary walls of the Governor House will begin in next 48 to 72 hours, adding that the government is considering transforming it into a museum.
Prime Minister Imran Khan arrived in Lahore today on a day long visit to chair a meeting of the Punjab cabinet at the Chief Minister Office.
During the meeting, he was briefed on the 100-day performance of the provincial government led by Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar.
In line with the PTI government’s promise to allow public access to state buildings, the palatial Punjab Governor House opened its doors to the general public in Sept, this year.
Governor Chaudhry Sarwar had said in a statement over 4,000 citizens visited the Governor House Lahore on the first day of its opening for general public.
