ISLAMABAD: Considering pressure on the Pakistan rupee, President Dr Arif Alvi has urged countrymen to buy ‘Made in Pakistan’ products, ARY News reported on Sunday.
In his tweet the president said, “Considering pressure on Pak rupee, I urge Pakistanis to buy ‘Made in Pakistan’.”

“In this time of crisis we must try to avoid luxury goods and avoidable imported purchases. If you put your mind to it there is a long list of daily use imported products. This is what we must do together,” he continued in his tweet at micro-blogging website.
It is worthwhile mentioning here that on November 30, the greenback’s value had surged, by Rs8 in the interbank market.
The rate of dollar rate had reached Rs 142 in the interbank market, against Rs 134 trading of November 29.
The current account deficit was said to be reason behind the fresh surge. The government is holding talks with the International Monetary Fund, and the IMF had asked Pakistan bring down rupee in terms of the dollar, reported our correspondent.
