THAR: A United Nations (UN) delegation will visit draught-hit Thar on Wednesday to mitigate the sufferings of local people.
According to the details, the UN delegation headed by its undersecretary will arrive in Pakistan today (Tuesday) to extend the sphere of social welfare activities in the draught-hit Thar.
Sources said that the UN in collaboration with Women Development Department Sindh will launch special program for mother and neonatal in Thar.
The UN will also introduce a program against child marriages and for women health in Sindh.

It is pertinent to mention here that Infants continue to succumb to malnutrition in Sindh’s drought affected district of Tharparkar, as three more toddlers fall prey at Mithi’s medical facility to this chronic disease on November 2.
The recent fatalities rise the number of death toll to 540 during last four months of the current year in the area.
Whereas a report released by the United Nation’s Children Fund (UNCF) in April stated that Pakistan is among the countries with the highest infant mortality rates, with 22 infants dying before turning one month old.
