ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Communications Murad Saeed has said many roads were constructed without proper planning, during the past regime, ARY News reported on Thursday.
The minister showing his resentment over the officials of the communication ministry, while chairing a meeting in Islamabad, said a proper planning will be carried out at the PC-1 stage of any project for construction of roads to provide all the relevant facilities to the commuters.
Murad regretted that the previous government of the Pakistan Muslim League –Nawaz (PML-N) left behind a large number of ill-planned and incomplete road projects.
“The construction of roads needs a proper signal, communications and security system to provide secure and safe traveling facility to the commuters” he maintained.
Murad Saeed said the government needs at least fourteen thousand police personnel to make a number of under-construction roads motorable.
He said opening these roads without proper arrangements would pose a risk to the road users causing accidents and security related mishaps.
On December 17, Murad Saeed was sworn in as federal minister in a ceremony at the President House.
It is pertinent to mention here that Prime Minister Imran Khan, in a federal cabinet meeting, had appreciated the performance of Murad Saeed and later he had decided to promote him as federal minister.
Murad Saeed had won election from National Assembly constituency NA-4 Swat-III by securing 71,600 votes in 2018 General Elections.
