KARACHI: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has arrested former deputy commissioner of Malir, Qazi Jan Mohammad, in a raid here, ARY News reported.
According to a NAB spokesman, former deputy commissioner was wanted to NAB in illegal dealings over 27 plots of KDA Scheme 31 and 33.
The accused had issued fake documents and allotment orders when he was deputy commissioner of Malir district, the anti-corruption watchdog said.
According to NAB sources, he allegedly had issued fake land papers in the name of Abdullah Shah Ghazi Goth. Other government officials were also involved with him in his illegal act, NAB alleged.
The accused had illegally allotted the land with Rs. 2.5 billion worth, the NAB further said.
According to the officials the ex-DC was also wanted to the accountability bureau in other cases. He is among the 172 officials whose names were placed on the exit control list (ECL) by the federal cabinet last month on Dec 28.
The NAB will produce the accused before an accountability court to seek his remand for investigation, sources said.
