ISLAMABAD: A meeting of the parliamentary leaders of opposition parties in the National Assembly will be held on Tuesday, ARY News reported.
The opposition session being held at the chamber of the Leader of Opposition Shehbaz Sharif.
Former president and People’s Party Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari also called on Sharif at the chamber of the Leader of Opposition.
According to sources, the opposition parties will discuss the issue of military courts and other political matters in the meeting as the term of these courts will expire in March.
President Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, Shehbaz Sharif, will also host luncheon in the honour of the opposition politicians.
Chairman People’s Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and former president Asif Ali Zardari were alsoinvited in the meeting.
It is pertinent to mention here that Prime Minister Imran Khan has formed a two-member committee to look into the matter of extension in military courts.
The committee comprising defence minister Pervez Khattak and foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi will consult the opposition parties over the matter of extension of the military courts and will report the development over the matter to the PM.
According to sources, a draft bill prepared by Ministry of Law and Interior will also be presented to Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and Pakistan People’s Party.
The military courts were extended for two more years in 2017 and the issue is under discussion of the political circles as the term of these courts expires on March 30.
