ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Tuesday directed Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) chairman to devise a comprehensive business plan to overcome losses.
Chairing a high-level meeting on reforms in PIA, PM Imran said that the government wanted to make national flag carrier a profit generating and independent airline.
He assured the PIA complete cooperation of the government to make the airline a profitable organization.
While briefing the prime minister, a PIA official said that total loss of PIA is 414.3 billion. The meeting was informed that during an ongoing drive against the fake degrees, 194 officials, including seven captains, 73 cabin crew and other officials were dismissed from service.
The prime minister expressed satisfaction over the measures taken by the current administration of the airline. He said that being national flag carrier, PIA represents Pakistan across the globe.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), on December 29, had dismissed four captains among 50 officials from service over holding fake degrees.
According to the details, the national flag carrier on the direction of the apex court took action against the employees holding fake degrees and sacked 50 officials, including four pilots and cabin crew.
