MUSCAT: Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi met with Oman’s Deputy Prime Minister Syed Fahad bin Muhammad al Syed in Muscat on Thursday.
During the meeting, the two leaders exchanged views on bilateral ties as well as regional and international issues of mutual interest. They agreed to enhance mutual cooperation by boosting trade and investment between the two countries.
Qureshi took the Omani deputy premier into confidence over Pakistan`s viewpoint on important regional issues including the Afghanistan peace and reconciliation process. “Pakistan values its relations with Oman,” he said.
The Omani deputy premier lauded the contribution of Pakistani diaspora in the progress and prosperity of Oman.
Earlier, on Jan 30, the foreign minister met Oman Minister of Royal Office General Sultan bin Mohammed al-Naamani.
Both the leaders discussed bilateral ties as well as regional and international issues during the meeting. The prevailing situation in the region also came under discussion.
Qureshi said Pakistan and Oman enjoy historical brotherly relations.
