LAHORE: Railways Minister Sheikh Rashid blasting political opponents Saturday said that Asif Ali Zardari was the major beneficiary of the martyrdom of Benazir Bhutto, ARY News reported.
In a media talk Rashid said it is unheard of that the will of a deceased person being found in the purse of a maid.
The minister in his scathing remarks against opposition politicians said that former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi will also have to go to jail. His future is in jail in LNG fraud, he said.
He also called, Shehbaz Sharif, the opposition leader in National Assembly, as the “biggest thief and robber”.
Replying a question, he called election of Shehbaz Sharif as Chairman Public Accounts Committee of the Parliament was a problem of the PTI.
He claimed around 50 people facing cases have fled from the country. “Salman Shehbaz escaped abroad despite his name in the exit control list (ECL),” he said.
Rashid announced to increase the salaries of Railway Police upto the level of the Punjab Police.
The minister said that in compliance to the Supreme Court orders, the railways department will grant its lands on not more than five years’ lease.
He welcomed the apex court’s remarks that the cases related to the railways will be settled soon.
He announced installation of trackers at railways locomotives adding that he will try that Prime Minister Imran Khan inaugurates the tracker system of railways.
He also announced to begin 20 more trains this year including two VIP trains with all facilities including five-star dining.
