KARACHI: Veteran television and film actor Gulab Chandio 60, passed away at a hospital in Karachi on Friday (today), ARY News reported.
Gulab Chandio was admitted at a private hospital two days ago where he breathed his last today.
His funeral prayers will be offered in his native Nawabshah tomorrow, where he will be laid to rest, sources said.
Gulab Chandio started his showbiz career in early 80s with Sindhi television dramas and during his career he performed in several Urdu and Sindhi television plays.
He was a versatile actor and essayed all types of roles. However, his negative roles especially applauded.
He acted in several dramas well received by the television audience. Some of his most popular dramas are Zeher Baad, Noori Jam Tamachi, Chand Girhan, Saans Ley Aye Zindagi, Bewafaiyan, Sagar Ka Moti, Marvi, Panchwan Mausam and Ghulam Gardish.
He was a prolific actor of Sindhi plays such as Noori Jam Tamachi. The play was highly appreciated by his Sindhi fans. His negative roles in Chand Girhan and Marvi brought him great fame as one of the best actors essayed these roles in Pakistani dramas.
He was also awarded the President’s Pride of Performance Award for his services for art and drama.
