‘We will take practical steps if Sindh CM doesn’t resign’: Fawad Chaudhry

KARACHI: Federal Minister for Information, Fawad Chaudhry, on Tuesday said Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah must resign by himself over his performance or the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) will take practical steps, ARY News reported.

Speaking to media after landing in Karachi, the minister indicated Shah’s role in Omni Group investigation by the National Accountability Bureau and other institutions. This is the reason we want CM Shah to tender resignation from office, he said.

He claimed that the grants given to the Sindh government by the Center was being spent in Dubai and UK.

Murad Ali Shah is the jinn of Omni Group’s ‘magic lamp’ through which Zardari group, rulers in Sindh launder money abroad with the blink of an eye. “He says to his party leadership: what can I do for you, my lord?” Chaudhry said.

He stated there was no guardian of the province, while its affairs are being run by ‘papa and phupi’, he said in an indirect reference to Asif Zardari and his sister.

Chaudhry said people of Sindh contacted Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf to take a step forward for ‘tabdeeli’ [change] in the province.

He was of the view that all provinces, except Sindh, were contributing for the National Finance Commission.

‘We are giving them chances, otherwise we will be forced to take a practical step,’ he warned.

The information minister said Raza Rabbani, the PPP leader, presents himself as sympathizer of the poor, but travels in a business class in planes.

Fawad Chaudhry said anyone who thinks that the government will not complete its term should ‘sleep with peace’, as their desire won’t become a reality.

To address the water crisis, the minister said his government was launching the ‘biggest’ project for Karachi.

Taking a jibe at PPP chairperson, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Chaudhry said politics was not meant for Bilawal, “Because the kids are apolitical”.
