ANKARA: Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan on Friday stressed upon the notion of ‘wealth creation’ to resolve all economic woes of Pakistan.
According to details, the prime minister was addressing a delegation of the Turkey-Pakistan Business Council of the Foreign Economic Relations Board of Turkey.
During 1970s, the PM recalled that Pakistan “went wrong because we had a socialist mindset which became a deterrent to wealth creation.” As making profits was considered a sin back then, leaving Pakistan lagging behind, he added.
The premier clarified that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government has a “different” approach, because “we feel that wealth creation can take Pakistan out of its economic crisis.” He highlighted that his government’s policies were based on the idea of wealth creation which will help paying debts and alleviating poverty from the country.

“We, as a government, are now making every effort to remove impediments in the way of investments,” PM Khan asserted.
The prime minister referred to the China as a role model for governance. “They [China] have taken 700 million people out of poverty in the last 30 years. Our main concern is also to take people out of poverty.”
The Pakistani delegation also discussed the issues being faced by Turkish investors in Pakistan. Meanwhile, PM Khan told the Turkish delegation that the current government’s top priority was the export sector.
PM Khan is visiting Turkey on the invitation of the Turkish president. He is accompanied by a high level delegation comprising Minister for Foreign Affairs Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Minister for Finance Asad Umar, Minister for Planning Makhdoom Khusro Bakhtyar and others.
