ISLAMABAD: The commander-in-chief of Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC), General (retd) Raheel Sharif, called on Foreign Minister (FM) Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Tuesday, ARY News reported.
As per details, two dignitaries discussed regional peace and security during the meeting.
General (retd) Raheel Sharif briefed FM Qureshi regarding the measures taken by the IMCTC to curb terrorism. Meanwhile, the foreign minister lauded the efforts of Islamic military alliance in maintaining peace and security in the region.
A day earlier, a delegation of Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition, led by former army chief General (retd) Raheel Sharif called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa at the General Headquarters in Rawalpindi.
Matters related to mutual interest, including regional peace and stability came under discussion during the meeting, according to the Inter Service Public Relations (ISPR).
A special aircraft carrying the delegation arrived at Nur Khan air base in the federal capital on Sunday evening.
The two-day long visit by the delegation comes ahead of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s scheduled trip of Islamabad.
Riyadh and Islamabad, decades-old allies, have been involved for months in talks to hammer out details of the deals in time for the high-profile visit.
