ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has invited youngest Pakistani athlete Ayesha Ayaz at the Prime Minister House in Islamabad in an appreciation for her recent feat in the taekwondo (martial art) competition, ARY News reported Monday.
Ayesha Ayaz became Pakistan’s youngest taekwondo athlete to bag accolades in the 27kg category during the 7th Fujairah Open International Taekwondo Championship in UAE a few days ago.
She had dedicated her win to Prime Minister Imran Khan. The young girl hails from Swat.
An event was also organised at Kanju, Swat to honour her achievement. In her speech at the event, she dedicated her medal to PM Khan. Ayesha added that she desired to win laurels for the nation.

“My next target is Olympic games for which I am working hard and practicing daily under my father’s supervision. She expressed hope that the government would assist her in preparing for the mega event.
Ayesha’s father Ayaz Naik is also an international taekwondo athlete himself who runs a training academy in Swat. He appreciated the skills of her daughter and she had immense talent in the sport and if provided adequate support from the government, would prove to become an international icon in the game.

Later, in recognition to her feat, the special assistant to Prime Minister, Iftikhar Durrani, posted a tweet extending an invitation on behalf of the prime minister to the youngest athlete to fulfill her desire.
