KARACHI: The police on Tuesday expanded investigation into murder of Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) leader Abdul Habib Khilji, who was shot dead in an armed attack near Sakhi Hassan Chowrangi yesterday.
According to the police’s high-ups the murder can be result of political differences or a dacoity bid, as the deceased was associated with the real estate business.
“Rs 1, 95000 were found from the vehicle of the assassinated PSP leader, the aspect of a dacoity into the killing cannot be ruled out,” the police said.
Detailing about the incident, the police said, accused who were riding the bike, opened shot at Khilji’s vehicle by a prohibited bore of 9mm pistol.
As many as 9 shells that were found from the crime scene were sent for a forensic test.

According to the report, the weapon was used for the first time.
The police was in contact with the heirs of Abdul Habib Khilji and a case would be registered after laying him to the rest.
Khilji was critically injured in an attack by unknown armed men in city’s area of Sakhi Hassan Chowrangi last night. He was moved to a nearby medical facility, but he succumbed to his bullet wounds.
Condemning the incident, PSP chief Syed Mustafa Kamal demanded the provincial government to ensure the swift arrest of the culprits and their facilitators involved in the murder of his party leader.
