NAROWAL: A Pakistani woman who inadvertently crossed into India two days ago has succumbed to her injuries, ARY News reported on Friday night.

Indian forces had shot and injured the 24-year-old young woman.

Family members of Gulshan Bibi said she had unwittingly crossed the border near Narowal and later succumbed to her injuries at an Indian hospital.

Following her marriage, Kubra Gillani had gone to Jammu Kashmir in 2010. Kubra’s spouse had parted ways with her after she could not bear a child and expelled her from his house.

She had been left stranded along 250 other girls who had also wanted to come back to Pakistan but Indian authorities were not allowing them to leave the territory.

The government of Azad and Jammu Kashmir (AJK) on Friday alerted administration of its six districts along the Line of Control (LoC) about possible aggression from the India, and asked them to take precautionary measures.

The warning was sent to the deputy commissioners of Neelum and Jhelum valleys in Muzaffarabad division, Haveli and Rawalakot in Poonch division and Kotli and Bhimber in Mirpur division by the State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) through a joint letter, also made available to the media.
