ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday has underlined the need for better coordination amongst the center and the provinces for addressing the problems being faced by the common people, ARY News reported.
This he said, while chairing a high level meeting here, which was attended by Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar, Governor Khyber Pakhunkhwa Shah Farman, Chief Minister KPK Mehmood Khan and the provincial ministers.
The premier said the government is completing its six months in office and as it has entered the next phase of rule, enhanced coordination between the provinces and federal government is need of the hour.
Prime Minister Imran Khan also stressed for projecting the steps taken so far by the PTI government for the well being of the masses and the country. “We assumed power in difficult times,” he continued.

He said we are cognizant of the problems faced by the people due to devaluation of currency.
The PM said that the government is making consistent efforts to uplift the economy of the country.
Prime minister said that federal government and provincial governments will focus to uplift the backward areas of the country. In this regard 50 cities will be focused in first phase in collaboration with the World Bank, he said.
The participants of the meeting where briefed by Minister for Planning and Development Makhdoom Khusro Bakhtiar about priorities of the future.
The meeting was apprised that first time sugarcane growers of Punjab have been given their due rate.
To this the prime minister, directed the concerned authorities to focus on agri sector, as uplift of this sector, will naturally reduce poverty.
