Rasheed seeks new ideas for uplift of railway operations

LAHORE: Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rasheed on Friday asked the officers of the department to come with the new ideas for uplift of the railway operations.

He was presiding over a meeting of the officials at the railways headquarters in Lahore, today.

The minister urged the officials to work with enthusiasm to uplift the operations of the Pakistan Railways.

“The team work will ultimately result in improvement in the services of the department,” he maintained.

Rasheed also asked the officers to highlight the problems being faced by them while discharging their duties and added that he will address them on merit.

Railways Minister Sheikh Rasheed  had announced to add 20 more new trains in the fleet of Pakistan Railways in next three months

Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed, on Wednesday (February 13) had  said the current government was running trains shut down during the tenure of Nawaz Sharif, former prime minister of the country.

Talking to media at Bhakkar Railway Station, Rasheed vowed that train commuting facilities would be available to people of all cities including Layyah, Bhakkar, Kot Addu, and Muzaffargarh.

The minister  said senior citizens above age of 70 years were being provided with the free facility to travel.
