LAHORE: Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) officials have thwarted drug smuggling bid by arresting a gang while conducting separate raids in Lahore, ARY News reported on Friday.
ANF spokesperson said the forces nabbed a B.Sc student among three drug smugglers and recovered huge quantity of narcotics worth millions from their possession.
Two accused persons were arrested over recovery of narcotics while checking a passenger bus while the student was arrested in another raid.
The student has been identified as Zain who is allegedly involved in drug supplies to educational institutions. ANF officials claimed to have seized narcotics from Zain’s vehicle in the latest action.

On March 14, a former inspector of the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) had been caught on charges of blackmailing in a joint operation by intelligence agencies officials and anti-corruption wing of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).
The former officer Saifur Rehman was allegedly involved in blackmailing a man identified as Mudasir. Rehman kept blackmailing Mudasir, a youth counselor, by labelling him as an affiliate of drug smugglers.
The FIA had been very active in actions against people involved in blackmailing, harassing using social media and other means of communication.
On last Friday, the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) had recovered 3,060.495 kilogram narcotics in different raids across the country.
The ANF spokesman had said 11 raids were carried out in different cities. He said the recovered narcotics was worth Rs2.243 billion while 12 culprits involved in smuggling drugs were also arrested.
