Four Pakistanis dead, three missing in New Zealand mosque attack: FO spokesman

ISLAMABAD: At least four Pakistanis were dead and three others missing in New Zealand mosque attack, Foreign Office Spokesperson Dr Mohammad Faisal confirmed on Saturday, ARY News reported.

In a tweet, Mohammad Faisal has given names of the deceased which are as follows: Sohail Shahid, Syed Jahandad Ali, Syed Areeb Ahmed, Mahboob Haroon, Naeem Rashid and his son Talha Naeem. He said the other three missing Pakistanis were still being identified.

The FO spokesman also provided a website link, an email address and a WhatsApp number for visa facilitation of immediate family members of the victims of the terrorist attack in New Zealand.

Dr Faisal relayed that Naeem Rashid and his son would be buried in Christchurch Arrangements. Muslim and Pakistani Association in the city had assisted in arrangements, he added.

The mission was working with families of other four victims for possible transport of dead bodies to Pakistan, he added

In another tweet, the spokesperson said Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi had directed all possible help and assistance be extended to the families of the deceased and missing Pakistanis in New Zealand terrorist incident.
