PESHAWAR: The federal government was spending more than Rs4 bn on promotion of quality education in the newly merged tribal districts, said a spokesman of Directorate of Education tribal Districts.
The spokesperson said that the government had recently completed more than sixty projects in education sector in the tribal districts.
He said that up gradation of one hundred primary, middle and high schools was also in progress and added that the government was also providing monthly stipends to the girl students to improve literacy rate in the area.

Earlier, Prime Minister Imran Khan on December 14 had directed the authorities to provide health, education and utilities to the people of tribal areas.
Chairing a high-level meeting on KP-FATA merger in Peshawar, Prime Minister Imran Khan had ordered to constitute an implementation committee headed by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) chief minister and governor for every tribal district.
He had said the provincial ministers and senators hailing from the respective tribal districts should also be included in the committees.
