KARNATAKA: An Indian professor, Sandeep Wathar, was forced to kneel down and apologies with folded hands for praising Prime Minister Imran Khan’s peace gesture on social media.
According to the details, over a hundred of charged activists associated with a right-wing group on Sunda, surrounded the Sandeep Wathar, who is a professor at an engineering college in Karnataka’s Vijayapura, and compelled him to apologies publically.
It is pertinent to mention here that the whole episode was carried out carried out in the presence of police officials but they did not try to rescue the professor.
Sources said that the professor had uploaded a post on facebook, criticizing Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government for fueling the tension between Pakistan and New Delhi for electoral gains.
On the other hand, college principal assured the right-wing group that strict action would be taken against the professor.
An Indian reporter took to the twitter, saying” Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) forces Karnataka lecturer to kneel, apologise for abusing BJP, praising Imran Khan in “anti national” social media post, while police look on in college run by Congress home minister.”
He quoted the police chief saying that whatever happened was wrong but can’t act without complaint.
