LAHORE: Jamiat Ulma-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazl ur Rehman will likely visit Kot Lakhpat Jail on Friday (tomorrow) to meet former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, who is serving seven-year imprisonment in the Al-Azizia case, ARY News reported.
Sources said the PML-N supreme leader and the JUI-F chief will discuss current political situation, National Accountability Bureau (NAB) cases, opposition alliance and other matters.
This visit will follow on the heels of a meeting between Sharif and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on March 11.
Talking to journalists outside Kot Lakhpat jail, the PPP chairman had insisted that it was completely a non-political meeting as he only arrived to inquire after ailing Nawaz Sharif.
“Every human has some cultural values despite having political differences, while our religion teaches us to inquire about the health of a person who is suffering from a disease.”

The meeting drew strong reaction from the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) with Federal Minister Fawad Chaudhry strongly critisizing Bhutto-Zardari. He said: “U Turn of the Century Grandson of Bhutto reunion with Munh Bola Beta of Zia Ul Haq.”
Responding to him, the PPP chairman in a tweet said: “If U-turns make great leaders in Naya-Pakistan your saying I am now Leader of the Century? Also visiting someone who is ill should be seen for what it is. Humanity above politics. Pehlay insan bano phir syasatan bano. Remember NS visit when the old khan fell and broke his back?”
