ISLAMABAD: Another achievement in parliamentary diplomacy for Pakistan, as it has clinched the slot of deputy chairman of general body of the Parliamentary Union of OIC (PUIC).
Moreover, Pakistan’s woman representative MNA Naureen Farooq has also been elected vice president of the 8th Muslim Women Parliamentarians Conference.
According to an official announcement, Pakistan was elected deputy chairman of PUIC’s general body on the first day of its four-day conference being held in Rabat, Morocco.
A four-member parliamentary delegation under the leadership of Chairman Kashmir Committee Syed Fakhar Imam is participating in the conference. Other members include Qasim Noon, Ahsan Iqbal and Naureen Farooq.

The PUIC conference has already adopted two resolutions presented by Pakistan related to the recent atrocities and inhuman attitude of Indian occupation forces against the innocent people of held Kashmir. While the second resolution was about protecting Muslim women and children in areas under occupation and conflict across the globe.
The main agenda of sending the Pakistani delegation to the conference was seizing an opportunity to apprise the forum about the continued Indian violation of Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, which has brought the region to the brink of war and devastation.
