KARACHI: Prime Minister Imran Khan will arrive on a visit of Sindh from March 29, citing sources, ARY News reported on Tuesday.

The premier will arrive in Karachi on a three-day visit of the province, sources said.

He will preside over a high-level meeting during his stay in Karachi, according to the sources.

The meeting will discuss prevailing law and order situation in the city. The officials will brief the prime minister about holding Pakistan Super League (PSL) matches successfully in the port city.

Prime Minister Imran Khan will also announce Karachi Package during his stay in the city, sources said.

The prime minister will lay foundation stone of a university in Hyderabad. He will also address a public meeting in Ghotki in upper Sindh, the sources added.

Prime Minister Imran Khan chaired a high-level meeting on Monday to review the progress of different development projects including Green Line Bus Rapid Transit System being completed under the federal government in Karachi.

While addressing the meeting, PM Khan underscored the need to make joint efforts by the Centre and provincial government for timely completion of the development projects.

The meeting was attended by Sindh Governor Imran Ismail, Adviser to PM Iftikhar Durrani, PM’s official spokesperson Nadeem Afzal Chan and other high-level officials.

“We want to resolve public issues in Karachi and Sindh through [early completion] of development projects,” said the premier.

He added that the federal government will provide maximum assistance to the provincial authorities for resolution of issues of its citizens.

“It is necessary for federation and provincial government to coordinate each other for the projects,” he added.

The premier was briefed over the progress of Green Line Bus Rapid Transit System while he also reviewed other development projects and Karachi package.

PM Khan issued special directives to protect green areas in Karachi.

He said that long-term planning was needed to control issues of growing population, environmental challenges and climate change effects on the metropolis.

Federal authorities have been urged to pay utmost attention while planning and completing development projects in major cities like Karachi across the province.
