PM Khan comes out to persuade coalition partners

Imran Khan Shujaat meeting

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has decided to hold important meetings with the leadership of Pakistan Muslim League Quaid, Balochistan Awami Party, Grand Democratic Alliance and Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan, the coalition partners of the ruling political party, ARY News reported on Tuesday.

Citing emerging differences between Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and coalition partners, PM Khan has decided to hold one-on-one meetings with the PML-Q, BAP, GDA and MQM-P’s leaders in order to remove their reservations on different issues.

PM Khan is scheduled to meet PML-Q chief Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain on Tuesday (today).

The premier and PML-Q chief will discuss the provision of federal ministry and chairmanship of a standing committee to the prime coalition partner of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf in Punjab province.

Sources confirmed that Imran Khan and Chaudhry Shujaat’s meeting was included in the premier’s schedule.

PML-Q will raise matters relating to its ministers’ authorities in province and centre during Shujaat’s upcoming meeting with PM Khan, sources added.

PM Khan will meet leaders of Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQM-P), Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) and Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA) during its next phase of talks.

It is pertinent to mention here that Punjab’s Mines and Mineral Minister and PML-Q leader Hafiz Ammar Yasir affiliated had tendered his resignation over differences with ruling PTI which he had withdrawn later on February 18.

Yasir had alleged that some elements were creating hurdles in continuation of its ministerial tasks which led him to decide for leaving charge of the ministry.
