Imam-e-Kaaba to call on President, PM, COAS today

ISLAMABAD: Imam-e-Kaaba Dr Sheikh Abdullah Awad Al-Juhany will call on President Arif Alvi, Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday, ARY News reported.

As per details, the visiting dignitary will spend a busy day in the federal capital with a number of high-level meetings scheduled for today.

Besides meeting the top political leadership, the Imam-e-Kaaba is also expected to meet Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa and Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani, sources said.

He is also likely to lead Zuhar prayers in the Parliament House today, after which Dr Sheikh will leave for Lahore, sources added.

In Lahore, the Imam-e-Kaaba will lead Asar prayers at Badshahi mosque on April 16. He will then meet the governor and chief minister of Punjab.

Yestaeday, Minister of State for Interior Shehryar Khan Afridi expressed jubilance over meeting with Imam-e-Kaaba Dr Sheikh Abdullah Awad Al-Juhany.

“Allah (SWT) has selected the Imam-e-Kaaba from 1.75 billion Muslims. I was over the moon, when I met him,” Shehryar Khan Afridi said while addressing ‘Paigham-e-Islam (Message of Islam) Conference’ held at Pakistan Ulema Council in Islamabad.

On April 12, Imam-e-Kaaba Dr Sheikh Abdullah Awad Al-Juhany had led the Friday prayers at the Faisal Mosque in Islamabad.
