KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, just after meeting Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar on Saturday, met with the people protesting outside the Supreme Court for redressal of their grievances.
He was going back to the CM House after the meeting when he saw that hundreds of people carrying banners, placards and handbills were staging protest before the SC building.
He got down from his car and met each and every protesting person/ party and listened to them patiently. He ordered redressal of their grievances which were related to his government. Several of the grievances were against the institutions of the federal government and various others had complained of slow trial of their cases in the lower courts.

Grievances:
Land Cases: Some fifteen women and men along with their children told the chief minister that Sardar Sher Mohammad Rind through his people had illegally occupied their lands in Nawabshah. They requested the CM to intervene into matter and get their lands vacated and get them protection. The chief mister directed chief secretary to get a detailed report from the commissioner Hyderabad for necessary action.
(b) Mohammad Anwar son of Abdul Karim told the chief minister that he had purchased two plots from Hameed Khan s/o Ali Hyder at Raees Goth, Baldia Town. He made payments for the plot and had constructed a house there. One day, his house was illegally taken over by Hameed Khan and since he was not giving him his house. He also alleged that Hameed Khan was also involved in China-cutting over 1000 acres at Raees village. The chief minister assured him that he would take action.
(c ) A woman, Nasreen Bibi of village Mozae Kotla and district Rajanpur told the chief minister that she was widow and living with her six children. Some local influential persons have illegally occupied her home and 14 acre agricultural land on 10th of Moharram. She said that she wanted to meet Chief Justice of Pakistan to get her land vacated from the land grabbers.
(d) Yousif Ali and some other people carrying a placard told the chief minister that some policemen of Shahrah-e-Faisal police station had illegally occupied their homes. They appealed to the chief minister to redress their grievances.
The chief minister assured Nasreen Bibi that he would send her application to the Punjab government.
Service Matters: The employees of Sindh Government Children Hospital, North Karachi told the chief minister that their hospital was being run on Public Private Partnership. They said that they have not been paid salaries from last three month. At this chief secretary Mumtaz Shah told the chief minister that there were some audit issues, therefore their salaries have been delayed. The chief minister directed the chief secretary to personally intervene and get their salaries released.
Some 46 constables who have been ousted from service after taking their examination once again were also among the protestors. They said that they were appointed in 2012 and had passed basic Recruitment Training Course from Saeedabad. Later, the Supreme Court ordered their re-examination and they were failed and removed from the job. The chief minister said that he would consider their request.
Bahawal Khan of Sinjhoro, Distt Sanghar gave an application to Sindh chief minister saying that he was appointed as Workshop Instructor in Education Department in 2013. The department without giving reasons has stopped his salary from March 2014. The chief minister in the case has sought report from the education department.
Six male and female teachers of KMC told the chief minister that their salaries have been stopped from 2015. They requested him to order release of their salaries. The CM sent the application to secretary local government for inquiry.
Disappearance Cases: Ms Salma w/o Alamdar Ali told the chief minister that her son Syed Ali Rizvi was picked up by some people dressed in civil dress in two police mobiles in November 2015. Since then his son has not returned and she had filed a petition in the high court but nothing has been done so far. The chief minister assured the woman that he would take necessary measures to recover her son.
Rehana told the chief minister that some law enforcement agencies personnel picked up her son Rawal from her home on Oct 10, 2018 and since then she was running from pillar to post but there was no clue of her son. The chief minister assured that woman that he would take necessary measures to recover her son.
Abdul Hameed of Qayumabad Sector-D appealed the chief minister to get his daughter, Asma, 14, recovered.
School Fee: A large number of parents were staging protest against private schools for charging exorbitant fees. They told the chief minister that the private school administration people were threatening them to oust their children or declaring them failed in the examination in case they failed to pay their huge fees. The chief minister directed the chief secretary to redress their issues and implement the order of the Supreme Court on school fees.
Interesting Application: A 67-year old Abdul Qadir told the chief minister that his wife late Shahina Parveen was school teaching in a local government School Baldia. She died on Feb 13, 2017. He was receiving her pension. The local government has told him that his pension would be discontinued when he got married or died.
“Now, I want to marry but they are stopping my pension,” he said and requested the chief minister to order continuation of his pension and be allowed to get married again. The chief minister told him that his case was typical- “I can’t stop you from getting married – that is your choice, but as far as your pension is concerned I’ll see the rules whether they are allowing to continue the pension or not,” he said.
