ISLAMABAD: Ousted premier Nawaz Sharif met his imprisoned brother Shehbaz Sharif on Monday, ARY News reported.
According to details, the meeting took place at the residence of Shehbaz at Minister’s Enclave which is declared a sub-jail by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
The two brothers discussed the country’s political scenario and ongoing cases filed by NAB, sources informed.
Earlier today, as per a NAB official, the president of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) was taken to Islamabad to attend session of the National Assembly and undergo medical treatment.
The anti graft watchdog on Sunday approved PML-N supremo’s plea to meet his brother and Leader of the Opposition in National Assembly.
An accountability court had granted NAB 14-day remand of Shehbaz Sharif in Ashiana Housing scam.
Arrest of Shehbaz Sharif
The National Accountability Bureau on Oct 5 arrested Shehbaz Sharif inside its Lahore office where he was summoned to record his statement in connection with the Punjab Saaf Pani Company case.
A combined investigation team of the country’s top anti-graft watchdog quizzed him for an hour over his alleged role in awarding contract to his “favourite firm” in violation of laws in the Ashiana-i-Iqbal housing project.
The Bureau later issued a statement, declaring that former Punjab chief minister Shehbaz Sharif has been arrested in the scam.
Shahbaz’s blue-eyed officers, Lahore Development Authority former director general Ahad Cheema and Fawad Hasan Fawad, are already in NAB custody in the Ashiana Housing case.
